Hello all DTD supporters!
We recently wrapped up an amazing production titled "“FOURever” alongside Houston’s very own Sumni Boys and production studio Golden Path Studios. The theme of this performance was centered on the 4 elements of the earth. Just as the earthly elements must be in harmony in order for life to exist, the elements of our faith must be in harmony in order for our spirits to exist!
We paired each physical element with an element of faith; water-love, fire-truth, air-purity, earth-ideal world. We were challenged with a task to not only depict what first comes to mind when you hear “water” or “fire”, but the spiritual counterparts that were paired with them. On the process of creating each piece choreographer Mariah Henry says, “It was interesting having to relay the feeling of both the physical and spiritual aspects of these elements. It reminded me of the way music and dance are counterparts that truly exist in two worlds at once. I found that there is so much more to this concept that I don’t think my work with this theme is truly done yet…”
