Ambition - DTD's New Dance on Film Work!

We are so excited to announce our newest dance on film work ‘Ambition’ funded in part by Houston Arts Alliance that has begun work and will be released this Spring 2023.

In November of 2022, we became one of the grantees of Houston Arts Alliance’s Let Creativity Happen Grant! We are truly thankful to HAA and God who are continuing to make progression in the arts possible!

About ‘Ambition’

‘Ambition’ is a dance on film project with a projected run time of approximately 10 minutes. The film will be available to watch via YouTube and Instagram TV, in addition to the small initial film viewing we plan to have in order to debut the film. ‘Ambition’ will incorporate contemporary and hip-hop dance styles. The film will be shot at both indoor and outdoor locations, and we will work with a Houston based videographer and editor. Costumes will be designed and created by Amanda Behic.

The concept of the film takes inspiration from a rock landscape with a descriptive story of how it fell 5 times in the creation process, but finally stood strong on the 6th attempt. With a group of 7 dancers, the dancers will symbolize each rock within the landscape to tell not only the story of the landscape being created, but how in our own lives there is a long creation process in order to reach our goals through keeping our ambition alive. As the rocks of the landscape rise and fall in the process of creation, the dancers will mimic that motion and work together to create the actual shape and design of the landscape.
